Essay Question
1.
With reference to Patrick O'Neil (2007,
2010) and other relevant scholars, distinguish between a state and a nation,
explaining how these two concepts are related to nationalism. How important is
it to distinguish states into strong, weak, failing and failed states? Give one
example of each type of state in today's world, justifying your choice where
necessary. Does the recent debacle in Ukraine viz. a viz. Russia's recent
actions depict the typical relations expected between powerful and less
powerful states? Why or why not?
Note:
Essays without any outside references cited will attract a penalty. Good Luck.
